Isabella is trying new foods!

Last night I wanted to flash back to one of our trips from a few years ago and make some ethnic food. Even though I grew up eating "rice and beans" there is a dish that is the prototypical traditional dish of Costa Rica and Nicaragua cuisines slightly different than the Puerto Rican side. This is gallo pinto.
As Wikipedia puts it... "It is considered the national dish of both countries, although the two prepare it in a different manner, and is eaten as a part of any meal. Though many variations exist, the dish at its most basic is composed of pre-cooked rice and beans fried together with spices such as cilantro, onion and peppers."

Anyway, Isabella loved it! You should try it too. Pictured above with eggs for a breakfast.
