We are all so excited. For the first few days we will be in London proper.

Lightning Crashes

I sent this email and picture from my cell phone becuase last night was crazy!

"This is us in the basement because there have been sirens going off for about 45 mins. So far everything is okay but the thunder crashes are big."

We had to wake up Isabella an bring her into the basement. Yes it was all 5 of us sitting in the dark basement for about an hour.

Isabella is trying new foods!

Last night I wanted to flash back to one of our trips from a few years ago and make some ethnic food. Even though I grew up eating "rice and beans" there is a dish that is the prototypical traditional dish of Costa Rica and Nicaragua cuisines slightly different than the Puerto Rican side. This is gallo pinto.
As Wikipedia puts it... "It is considered the national dish of both countries, although the two prepare it in a different manner, and is eaten as a part of any meal. Though many variations exist, the dish at its most basic is composed of pre-cooked rice and beans fried together with spices such as cilantro, onion and peppers."

Anyway, Isabella loved it! You should try it too. Pictured above with eggs for a breakfast.

Isabella is a big girl!

It's true. Today marks the day that Isabella will be going to daycare without diapers on.
Yes that is one week to the day after her 2nd birthday.
(As I told my mom this she reminded me that I didn't talk until I was 3 and I wasn't potty trained until 4.)

Today is the Summer Solstice!

The northern/summer solstice is in June, when the sun is directly over the Tropic of Cancer in the Northern Hemisphere marking that last day of Spring.
Go outside and enjoy the weather if you can!

A drink that I suggest...

Rum Swizzle
4oz Goslings Black Seal Rum
4oz Barbados Rum (or any amber rum)
2oz Triple SecJuice of 2 lemons
5oz Pineapple Juice5oz Orange Juice
2oz Bermuda Falernum or simple sugar syrup
4 dashes of Angostura BittersMix in a pitcher with cracked ice and shake vigorously until frothing head appears. Strain into cocktail glasses and let the fun begin!

"A Little Fish"

Isabella is really starting to learn how to do great things in the water already. Here you can see that she loves putting her head into the water. She isn't too keen on her face going in yet but this is a great start!

Catching up

I forgot to update about last weekend Memorial Day weekend.
Charlotte's and Isabella grandparents were in town for the holiday weekend.

We explored the new downtown of Gahanna. For anyone in town it is amazing what they did. We had a wonderful lunch and then we were able to go on a paddle boat ride!

Isabella had a blast. Charlotte was sleeping, again!

The next day we took at trip to the outlet malls. Isabella was able to see her friend Gigi! Here is a picture of Gigi (Gabriella), Amanda(Gigi's mom if you don't know her), and Isabella.

Fun in the Sun!

It is geting to be Summertime!

Yesterday was our first outing to the outdoor pool for 2008.

Isabella had a blast. I am sorry to say Charlotte slept the whole time. Although we plan on getting her in the pool for the first time very soon.

After we went swimming we took at trip to "Marshals" Isabella loved playing in all of the hanging rugs and playing hide-and-go-seek!

Isabella loves "The Wiggles" still, and I got to let our friend Morgan watch a few shows fo it as well. I love the look he gives us when Nicki and I know the words to the songs and he thinks we are crazy! To be honest with everyone, the music isn't that bad and if you know the music, I love fruit salad also.
